About Us



Our History
OpenSky Learning Inc. has been helping companies produce better testing and training since 2003. Clients include Compuware, Connoco Phillips, The Project Group, Macromedia, ASPTrain, ARDMS, EROne, Reuters and others.

In 2003 William left Kelly Services, where he was VP of Training Technology, to start OpenSky Learning. Under William's guidance, Kelly became a leader in Performance based testing and test based training.

Whereas many have entered into Computer Based Training, OpenSky is large enough to have a broad spectrum of experience and talent, but small enough to be economical, flexible and responsive to your needs.


Future Goals
OpenSky Learning Inc. is looking to further integrate avatar based training, with sophisticated performance based games to evaluate performance level in a fun, non threatening way.

William Heinz, Founder
William Heinz, founder of OpenSky Learning Inc. is a graduate of Princeton University where he majored in experimental psychology. His thesis was on learning and dissonance. After Princeton, William spent a number of years as a software engineer before dedicating his skills to testing and training. In 1991, William became lead programmer for a testing company, Mentrix, which created early versions of performance based testing using the computer. Mentrix was bought by Kelly Services, and the PinPoint training system which was developed by William became the backbone for the testing and training used by Kelly Services to train 250,000 temporaries per year and later by Microsoft for the MOUS exams. William became the Vice President of Training Technology at Kelly and headed up a team of 40 which produced many different testing and training products for Kelly Services in 6 different languages. William has presented at the Masie Conference and with the E-Learning Guild
